I have been coached my whole life.
In sport it started when I was a kid. Coaches took me to places I could not have reached alone, from a national squash championship to twelve Ironman finishes and five trips to the World Championship in Kona. In business it started at 24. Someone with more experience saw what I could not, set a standard higher than I would have set for myself, and held me to it.
In October 2000 I was running a fast-growing company that had made the Inc. 500 and won awards. Then the market turned, and I came very close to losing all of it. What got me through were the few people who had been where I was going and told me the truth when I did not want to hear it.
Eight years later, in the middle of the financial crisis, I started this firm. Most people said it was the wrong time. I thought it was exactly the right time. Every CEO I knew was making the hardest decisions of their career alone, and I knew what that felt like.
We built CEO Coaching International on one idea: the best coach for a CEO is someone who has sat in the seat. Every coach here has decades of experience running significant companies. They have made the payroll, lived through the downturn, and come out the other side. They are here to help you navigate your hardest challenges, and to help you win.
