More About Emily Murphy:

Emily has served on the National Capital Planning Commission, the Board of Directors of the National Building Museum, the President’s Management Council, and the American Technology Council.

Emily graduated from Smith College and the University of Virginia School of Law. Her passion for results has been recognized with numerous awards, and the University of Virginia School of Law recognized her as one of the top 100 change agents of the past 200 years. She is an Executive Committee Member of YPO US Capital, a member of the Chief Executives Organization, and the Economic Club of Washington, D.C.

Emily has visited 47 U.S. states so far, and her goal is to visit all 50. She has two goofy dogs named Maggie and Poppy.

  • Created IT Modernization Centers of Excellence operating in 16 agencies, including an Artificial Intelligence Center in the Department of Defense.
  • Expanded GSA’s share of federal IT spend to over 30% ($34 billion) with innovative contract solutions, programs to bring in non-traditional high-tech vendors, and the creation of six IT Modernization Centers of Excellence.
  • In nine years working for the U.S. House of Representatives, drafted over 100 legislative provisions that ultimately became law.
  • Implemented a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the Department of Defense, while working for TerreStar National Services, Inc. as General Counsel and Vice President for Operations, that allowed the company to develop its satellite technology in coordination with its largest customer.
  • Managed the small business contracting programs at the Small Business Administration, including the 8(a), HUBZone, Woman-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business programs, which led to the federal government meeting the 23% small business goal for the first time.
