The operator behind the coach

Andres Molano co-founded SoEnergy International and built it from a start-up into a $350 million global energy services company operating in more than 30 countries across North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

He was not hired into the CEO seat. He came up through engineering, project management, field operations, contract negotiation, and business development before running the company. As a co-founder, he sat in the seat that connects operations to the financials – understanding the business through its numbers, not just its activity. Knowing how the work actually gets done, and what it does to the P&L, is how he grew and transformed the business. It is also what he brings to the CEOs he coaches.

Under his leadership, SoEnergy raised more than $1 billion to build and own power plants financed against multi-year power purchase agreements, structured project finance behind 1 GW+ of executed projects, and led the company’s M&A activity. His most complex transaction was a $1.7 billion portfolio of seven power plants under power purchase agreements with the government of Argentina, including a $500 million bond issued with Siemens as partner – the first issuance of its kind in Argentina in over a decade. The company was vertically integrated, with its own construction and EPC group, and ran a fast-track power generation unit that deployed large blocks of generation into natural disasters and other unplanned events worldwide on short notice. SoEnergy became the first World Global Power Provider for Caterpillar in the temporary power market, which required changing dealership rules that had stood for decades. Andres also implemented Lean Six Sigma across the business, cutting G&A by 15%.

Andres holds an MBA from Florida International University and has completed management programs at The Wharton Business School and Kellogg School of Management. He is a long-standing member of YPO and the Harvard Business School YPO Program. He coaches in English and Spanish, with a bias for action, a willingness to challenge rules others treat as fixed, and a founder’s instinct for connecting purpose, strategy, and financial results.

Questions CEOs ask about Andres

Who is Andres Molano best suited to coach?

CEOs of $20M–$500M international, industrial, energy, and infrastructure companies, particularly operators scaling global operations, structuring large-project finance, leading multicultural teams, or running M&A-driven growth strategies.

What is Andres's operating background?

Andres co-founded and was CEO of SoEnergy International, a $350M global energy services company in Miami, operating across 30+ countries. He structured project finance for 1 GW+ of executed power projects, oversaw multiple M&A deals, and led the company to become Caterpillar's first World Global Power Provider in temporary power.

Does Andres coach bilingually?

Yes. Andres is fully fluent in English and Spanish and coaches CEOs across North America and Latin America in either language. He is one of the firm's go-to coaches for Latin American operators and U.S.-based CEOs running cross-border businesses.

What sectors does Andres specialize in?

Energy and power, industrial services, infrastructure, and any operator running complex international operations. His T&D systems and energy-markets expertise is rare in the CEO coaching world, but the underlying playbooks translate across capital-intensive global businesses.

Where is Andres based and how does he engage?

Andres is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He coaches CEOs across the Americas and internationally through 1:1 sessions, board observation, and strategic offsites, drawing on his MBA from Florida International University and executive programs at Wharton and Kellogg.
